Camping Equipment – Summer
Troop Recommended Equipment for Summer Camp (print pdf)
All equipment must be carried from parking lot to campsite. Room for equipment will be very limited.
DO NOT OVER PACK and LABEL ALL YOUR BELONGINGS
- Duffel bag or backpack
- Sleeping bag or two warm blankets
- Class A Uniform and a hanger to keep your shirt neat
- Class B t-shirts and camp Class B t-shirts
- Comfortable sturdy hiking shoes
- Sneakers or moccasins
- Poncho or raincoat and hat
- Toiletry articles - wash cloth, soap, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, and towel
- Sweater or jacket
- Flashlight with extra batteries and bulbs
- Bag for laundry
- Pajamas, sweat suit, or thermal underwear
- Shorts
- Swimsuit and water shoes (pack on top for easy access when you arrive at camp)
- Extra underwear
- Extra socks
- Extra shirt and pants
- Scout Handbook and pen
- Rope for clothesline
- Water bottle – needed for hikes (especially for new Scouts attending Trail to First Class)
- Money for meals going down and coming back ($20)
- Watch (so you know when to be places)
- Folding camp chair
- Backpack and sleeping pad (only for new Scouts attending Trail to First Class)
- Insect repellent (NON-AEROSOL) and sunscreen (NON-AEROSOL)
Optional Equipment:
- Pocket knife or Scout knife (Must have Totin’ Chip to carry)
- Compass (if available)
- Pillow or air pillow
- Writing paper and envelopes, stamps
- Fishing gear
- Merit badge pamphlets – as needed
- Camera - disposable is recommended
- Trading Post spending money ($25+)
- Book or magazine to read and playing cards
You may bring personal electronics to use on the ride down and back but they are not allowed in camp
