Our Approach
Welcome to Troop 433
We think that we run a fun and exciting program. If a program is not fun, it will fail. As you will learn, however, there is much more than fun involved in Scouting!
Our Story
Our Sponsor Organization
Troop 433 is a fully chartered and accredited Troop in the Boy Scouts of America. Our charter is granted by the National Capital Area Council, BSA, and we are sponsored by Oakdale Emory United Methodist Church. The Troop was chartered in 1964 and has been in continuous operation since then. District historians tell us that Troop 433 was originally chartered by an elementary school in Wheaton. The charter is reviewed and renewed annually in December. Troop 433 is part of the White Oak District.
Parents
Besides the boys, another part of what makes our Troop really special, is that we encourage all parents to get involved in whatever way they can – some parents go on camping trips with the boys; others share whatever special talents and interests they have by becoming merit badge counselors; still others pitch in by helping with fund raising and other “administrative type” duties. We welcome your special talents, interests, and most of all your enthusiasm and ideas! Your help is what keeps the Troop going!
