Pre Summer Camp Briefing - July 9th or 16th
Communication
- Talk to PL/ASPL/SPL about issues
- Talk to adult leadership BEFORE you call home
- Cell phone – put the phone down - interact with other Scouts
Cleaning
- You are responsible for camp cleanliness
- NO Food In TENTS Yes that means you
- We will clean camp / latrine
- We will show / demonstrate what clean is – and how to clean
- NO Food in TENTS
- Keep your tent clean
Preparedness
- Keep your tent clean
- During day --- all personal items ON the COT
- Nothing on the floor
- Keep flaps closed and fastened
- Flaps loose + sudden rainstorm = WET stuff & tent = Sad Scout
- We will demo a daytime ready tent
- Swim test – July 19th and 20th
- Packing / Equipment -- Summer camping list (see email & URL)
- Bug spray or sunscreen - no aerosol
- Full scout uniform for travel - class A at dinner
- At least 4 or 5 sets of underwear & socks
- Hygiene supplies – shower must on Friday !!!!!
Accountability
- Buddy system - always 2 scouts together
- Names on tents
- Scout Leadership must meet every night
- You must use the board when leaving T433 site
Timeliness
- Always report to fire pit / Ticonderoga assembly point 10 minutes early
- Meeting time will be posted on announcement board
- All leadership positions must be up early – each day
Duties
- Everyone will be assigned duties
- Kitchen Patrol (KP) Latrine Shower cleaning
- Fire Guard Flag Others
- KP –Dining Hall prep and clean up
- At the end of meal --- entire troop helps till tables are clean/busted and KP crew starts floors.
- We will demonstrate this teamwork process
Camp Space’s
- Canopy’s – each will have a purpose
- Ticonderoga is very open and sunny
- We will have multiple canopy’s
- Adult canopy is OFF –LIMITS 100% w/o permission
- Respect tables & property
- Benches are for butts - not feet
On Arrival at Camp
- Arrival at camp must follow plan
- Weather will impact the plan
- Health officer comes and meets/reviews with each camper
- The canopy’s go up before you get a tent
- Tents will be assigned - No rushing tents when we get to camp
